Instagram has no shortage of cat superstars, from the grumpy cat to stars Iris and Abyss, but when it comes to the most beautiful turquoise eyes to get lost in, there’s no competition with Xafi and Auri, two Russian blue cat sisters with mesmerizing green eyes.
You may think the felines are twins, but they’re only sisters by blood and are different ages. Xafi (Xafira) was born in the spring of 2016 and Auri later that fall. Their owners, Anneken and Tim, a couple in Reading, England, have ways of telling the difference. “Auri has a rounder face, wider ears, and darker fur,” while “Xafi has a more angular face with slightly taller ears.”
In addition to their physical differences, the two cats have distinct personalities. Xafi is more affectionate and snuggly compared to the cheeky, naughty, and mischievous Auri. Xafi loves to cuddle and sit on her humans’ laps, while Auri likes to steal things and run away with them, as well as shred toilet paper and “attack blankets and cat beds.” However, the two siblings get along very well together, and they love their humans so much.
