There are many awesome cat places in Japan that you absolutely can’t miss if you’re visiting this country. And today, we would like to introduce to you Nyan Nyan Ji (literally meaning Meow Meow Shrine when translated into English). This is a famous cat shrine in Kyoto, where has the cutest cat monks ever.

When you visit the Nyan Nyan Shrine, you’ll be greeted by the current cat monk named Koyuki. The cat monk Koyuki is not the only feline at the shrine. There are plenty of cat assistants there too. Although the cat assistants aren’t as popular as the head monk, they’re just as cute.

Inside the shrine, you can order cat-themed food and drinks. The place is also full of statues and drawings that feature cats as well. If you want to buy them, you can visit the shop called “Littlefootmark Ren” inside the temple.
