This Tiny Feline Is The Deadliest Cat In The World

“And though she is but little, she is fierce.” Shakespeare wrote this line in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to describe the character Hermia, but those words could also be used to describe the black-footed cats of Africa. They may look sweet, huggable, and similar to your cat at home, but this tiny cat is a natural assassin. An adult black-footed cat is about 14 to 20 inches long (not counting its tail) and weighs only about 2 to 5 pounds. While it looks like a house cat, it’s fierce like a lion.

In this clip, we see one of these felines named Gyra, who is stalking a bird. Black-footed cats eat anything they can get their paws on, like scorpions, gerbils, and birds. Sixty percent of all the species hunts are successful, the highest hit rate of any wild cat, making black-footed cats the deadliest cats on the planet. Along with being particularly lethal, these cuties also cover a lot of ground. They can walk 20 miles in one night, which is the furthest distance recorded for smaller cat species.

So don’t let the black-footed cat’s small size fool you. Though she is little, she is fierce. Watch the video below, and please SHARE with your friends and your family!
