Like dogs, rabbits are very social animals, which means they form loving bonds with their humans or other animal family members. And the story today will be a perfect example of the loving bonds between a rabbit and a dog.

Grace, the two-year-old pit bull was adopted by a woman named Mindy Hayes and her husband. They saw her at the shelter and immediately fell in love with her. They brought her home and she quickly settled into life at the Hayes’ house.

In 2017, Hayes and her husband brought home another furry pet: a Flemish giant rabbit named Sophie. She was careful to introduce her dogs, Grace and Sadie, slowly to their newest family member. Sadie wasn’t too interested in the rabbit, but Grace immediately fell in love with her! Soon, Sophie and Grace became completely inseparable. The two love curling up, grooming each other, and snuggling up with their owners on the couch every day.
Sophie is now eleven months old when she’s all stretched out lounging with Grace, they don’t look that different in size. Adult Flemish giant rabbits typically weigh around 15 pounds but can weigh upwards of 20 pounds.

Many people are shocked when they see how close Grace and Sophie are. They are an adorable pair of animals who love each other more than anything in the world. Hayes feels very fortunate to have not only a dog like Grace but a bunny who has the same happy-go-lucky personality.
