A 17-year-old cat named Boo has finally found its way home after going missing for 13 years. Her owner, Janet Adamowicz, was left heartbroken when Boo disappeared unexpectedly in 2005 aged just four. She did everything to find Boo, putting missing posters on lampposts in Harrogate, West York, and even posting an advertisement about her in the local newspaper.
After a long year of unsuccessful searching, Janet lost hope and eventually decided to adopt two other cats, three-legged Ollie in 2008 and Tessie in 2014. She could only hope that Boo had found another home and was alive and well. 13 years later, Janet got a call from a vet surgery 40 miles away in Pocklington, East York. The caller told Janet they had a cat that belonged to her, which left her confused as both Ollie and Tessie were at home.
Amazingly, Janet found her missing cat. Boo seemed to have lived a successful life as a street cat until she found her home. She was taken to Wicstun Vets in York by a lady who did not leave her name or details. The tabby has been showing signs that she’s very pleased to be reunited with her owner, with Janet saying that the cat has been following her around ever since she got home.
