Artist Creates Minimal Landscape Illustrations Inspired By Playful And Chilly Cats

Lim Heng Swee is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His mantra is “Doodling a Smile” which aims to make people smile more in their busy daily lives. According to the introduction on his site, he was awarded Designer of the Year in 2009 and 2011 by Threadless.com (US leading t-shirt design community). His work has been published and featured in many international magazines and design blogs like IdN (International Design Network), Readers Digest, M le weekend magazine of Le Monde (France’s leading newspaper), SwissMiss, etc.

When asked about cat minimal landscape art, he shared: “Recently, I started to explore minimal landscape art and found that the curves and shapes of the land have a lot of similarities with the curve and shape of the cat. I tried to blend the two elements together and the result is surprisingly great. It’s like the surreal view you can see if you land on a super cool cat planet.”

The artist has spent 20 days creating 20 illustrations inspired by the curves of playful and chilly cats, so he hopes you’ll enjoy them as much as he is creating them. He also owns some blogs and social media websites, where he has gained over 250,000 followers. So if you love his work, you can check out his Instagram and website to see more of his illustrations.
