Animal Rescue Group Saves Mama Dog And Her 9 Babies Dumped Like Trash In A Church Parking Lot

When we came across this picture, of a mama dog who was abandoned with her nine 2-week-old pups, it infuriated us. The poor dogs were dumped in a blue plastic bin and left to fend for themselves in the parking lot of North Side Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas.

Thankfully, a good samaritan helped the mama dog and her litter puppies by posting their picture to social media, and it soon reached the right people.

When the picture circulated online, two selfless volunteers of the Paw Angel Animal Rescuer immediately came to rescue these canines from their harsh situation.

“I saw the picture and it just broke my heart and I called Angel and we went and rescued the dogs,” Misty Boerger, one of the volunteers said. “I just don’t know how someone could do that, leaving momma and 2-week-old babies.”

The mama dog, a five-year-old Boxer, was clearly frightened and needed immediate care. She was covered with countless wounds, which were open and draining continuously. The volunteers quickly placed the dog family in the back seat of their car and brought them back for checkups.

The mother, who’s now named Dory, and her puppies are flourishing in their new foster home and getting better each day. But sadly, one of the pups didn’t make it. He was found to have suffered from a throat tumor, and had to be euthanized.

Paw Angel Animal Rescue since then has been posting regular updates on Dory and her eight surviving babies. We are happy to know that they are now healthy and expected to be adopted sometime in the near future.

Share this story with your friends and family to help Dory and her pups find their forever homes. What do you think about this story? Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
